2026 Dates for the diary

Thursday, 30th April – Village Hall Talk – Saving the Frome Salmon from Extinction by Charles Dutton – 7.30 start, bar open at 6.30

There are 200 true chalk streams world-wide. The Frome and the Piddle are two of only six such rivers world-wide that STILL have a run of Atlantic salmon – but their numbers are declining catastrophically.

Charles is part of a group who, over the last seven years have started a “Noah’s Ark” project in an attempt to preserve our chalk Stream’s dwindling fish stocks.  Come and find out how they are doing it. The dedication and ingenuity of this team of volunteers is truly inspirational. There is no charge for this talk.
